Course Information

D.El.Ed is a Diploma course in Elementary Education. It is a 2 year full time diploma course to train teachers for the primary level. The course has been designed to improve the elementary level teacher workforce in India. D.El.Ed. course caters to the needs of elementary level education segment. This academic program boasts a holistic mixture of educational technology, teaching skills and subject-wise knowledge.

Future Prospects

After completing Diploma in Elementary Education course, successful candidates may work as elementary level teachers at educational institutes and also eligible for further higher studies.

Course Information

B.A. B.Ed. Integrated is a four-year undergraduate programme that offers a dual degree. The programme was started with a vision to impart in-depth knowledge of different subjects of Humanities including Political Science, History, Geography, Economics, Sociology, Psychology as well as English and Hindi languages and integrates additional coursework leading to specialisation in teacher education, pedagogic and curriculum studies, ICT and New Media, policy and research. The programme is designed according to NCTE guidelines to prepare qualitative future teachers for nation-building.

Future Prospects

B.A. B.Ed. graduates are eligible to teach at Senior Secondary, Secondary and other lower levels. If interested, one may start self-employment by joining or opening own educational institutions. BA-B.Ed. graduates have access to a handful of PG courses. They may pursue courses related to teacher training or other topics. Here are some of the popular PG courses –

Course Information

Bachelors of Education, popularly referred as B.Ed., is a two-year full-time degree course. Bachelor of Education Course can also be pursued through Correspondence or Distance Learning which is generally of 2 Years duration. While students from Arts Stream are trained to teach subjects like History, Civics, Geography , Languages and education papers. The students from Science Stream are trained to teach Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, Languages and integrates additional coursework leading to specialisation in teacher education, pedagogic and curriculum studies, ICT and New Media, policy and research.
This course has been designed for those aspirants who are interested to pursue career in teaching and other related fields. For teaching in high schools and higher primary schools, B.Ed degree is must require in India. National Council for Teacher Education is a statutory body which delegates and regulates programmes in teaching across the country.

Future Prospects

Interested candidates can also pursue higher studies in this field. Master of Education (M.Ed) is the postgraduate higher specialized course which students can pursue after the completion of B.Ed. Course Information

The B.Ed.-M.Ed. is a new three-year integrated programme of study to prepare educators for middle and secondary school pedagogy (English language, Science, Mathematics and Social Sciences) and integrates additional coursework leading to specialisation in teacher education, pedagogic and curriculum studies, ICT and New Media, policy and research.
The B.Ed.-M.Ed. integrated is programme designed to prepare educators to work as adaptive experts and transformative intellectuals. The programme is in response to the need for quality teacher education which can develop eduators with a strong motivation and commitment to working in the sector as well as deep professional knowledge that empowers them to understand the curriculum and social context. The programme is designed based on NCTE Norms and Standards.

Future Prospects

After completing B.Ed. M.Ed. combined course, graduates may go for further advanced courses like M.Phil. or PhD (relevant programs). After completing the course, one may appear for tests like CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) or State-wise TETs. Course Information

M.Ed or Master of Education is a 2 years master degree course that deals with the study of new methods of teaching and educational research. The programme focuses on different aspects of education including instruction, curriculum, counselling, leadership, and educational technology. After the completion of M.Ed course, candidates can choose to work not only as teachers but also counsellors, administrators, head masters, etc

Future Prospects

After the completion of M. Ed., the candidate is eligible to apply as teacher/lecturer/assistant professor/academician or officer on the field of education in prestigious institutions and colleges. It is highly rewarding and lucrative career. A degree of M Ed is also compulsory to get employed as a post graduate teacher (PGT).
